Outdoor Play: Rocks and Pebbles

Last week river rock was added to the fenced in play area as an activity for hauling and building. The children have been using the rocks in interesting and creative ways, carrying the rocks from one place to another in the wooded area. We have observed “campfire circles” and construction sites.

Over the weekend pebble was added to the former “dirt pit” area. The children were very excited to “move” the pebbles in the pit using trucks and bulldozers. They are loving the new building and hauling materials and we are loving the use of natural materials in our outdoor environment.
